My lifetime occupation has been in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection, heaven only knows why. I have taken a year off to be with my family but my youngest is about to start pre-school and my wife needs me to go back to work.
All my efforts in steel have been based upon a driven work ethic, a compulsive attention to detail and being able to prioritize work. Working in Hawaii and coordinating from the mainland made good use of these tendencies. Excellent estimates and proposals demand these traits.
I am driven in providing success to the company for which I work but I have no ego for any and all job assignments, small tasks have to be performed to make the big machine work effectively. I also have a strong base of GC’s who respect the work that we mutually performed.
Contrary to most in CA, I enjoy commutes. This is part of the reason we settled in Ramona.
If you feel that I might be the type of employee that you seek, please feel free to contact me via the information provided on the attached resume.

• Chief estimator for a group of 7 from 1983 – 1987
• Project manager from 1987 - 1989
Continental Steel was a structural and miscellaneous facility with a 50-man shop. Their niche was commercial work and their average project was about 500 to 750 tons. This company was bought and dismantled for their assets.
Pacific Erectors, Honolulu Hawaii 1989 – 1994
• Area Manager for a Seattle, WA based structural and miscellaneous steel erector carrying full division 5 packages, and sometimes other trades (ship unloaders, conveyor systems, rebuilding Aloha stadium, etc.).
• Coordinated detailing, fabrication & shipping from mainland based suppliers
• Established scheduling and logistics for erection on any of the 5 islands.
• Performed all tasks from estimating to project management to retention and CO recovery.
Pacific Erectors specialized in Federal and state work with private work occupying about 15 percent of their capacity. We performed, on the average, about $ 35MM annually. This company lost a $ 50,000 contract dispute with Kiewit from their WA operation. The courts dissolved them.
H & H Steel, El Cajon CA 1995 – 2001
• Estimator for this miscellaneous and occasional structural steel fabricator.
I left H & H to join PCI at PCI’s request, see next paragraph.
Pacific Coast Iron, Spring Valley CA 2001 – 2006
• Started as an estimator for PCI trying to rebuild a destroyed customer base. I retained all estimating duties through my tenure.
• Project Manager from 2002 – 2006
• General Manager and corporate officer from 2002 – 2006
PCI is a predominately a miscellaneous steel fabricator who occasionally works structural steel projects. We performed Federal and private work and I managed an office of about 8 and a shop that peaked at 35 men during our busiest season. PCI remains in business.
American Steel, Greenfield NH 2007 – 2008
• Shop superintendent for a 35 man structural steel shop
Being a shop super was a wonderful experience while we waited for a new COO position to be opened dependent upon the economy. However, NH was a failed attempt for me to be closer to my parents and brother. The New England weather and the separation of my wife from her family required our return to SoCal.
Aero Steel, Ramona CA 2009
• Estimator for this structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator and erector.
My father-in-law founded Aero Steel and he requested our return from NH (my wife is an SDS2 detailer) to help him run the business. Considerations of the business required that both my wife and I leave the company.
